Course Updates

Monday, January 7, 2013

As we work toward building Bolivia’s first full-length EMT-level course, we and our partners have decided to lead a 1-month course in March (housed and taught at Universidad Mayor de San Simón) and begin the full-length course later this year. This new approach emerged from discussions with new faculty at the university, who value partnering in a second model course prior to launching the full-length program. A Tu Lado’s team will travel to Bolivia in February and March to work with the university’s new members and facilitate the program.

Meanwhile, in Venezuela, our allies in Venemergencia have successfully partnered with Banesco, the country’s largest bank, to provide micro finance to students in our upcoming EMT-level course at Universidad Simón Bolívar. This is a major achievement, though it also delayed the beginning of the course; originally scheduled to start in January, it will begin in March. A Tu Lado’s team will be present to help with the course’s launch.
