Flying into Caracas

We landed in Caracas at 3pm and made it out of the airport by 5. We met Dr. Andres Gonsalez outside of customs and jumped in his car. Riding through the hills toward the city center, Andres introduced us to our first view of Venezuela. We met our host family, unpacked, and snuck in a quick nap before Andres took us out for arepas (toasted sweet bread stuffed with meats and vegetables). Aldo Yallonardo made it to the restaurant before we arrived and was waiting for us when we walked in. After rounds of Polar, we know we’ve found some precious colleagues, and some even more precious friends.
