Brigade Updates

Updates on the brigade:
- The SMS alert system we designed with Venemergencia is entering the final stages of production. The system is built to allow anyone in Los Erasos text a single number (such as 1-2-3-B-R-I-G-A-D-E) and contact the brigade and Venemergencia simultaneously.
- 20 graduates of the Los Erasos course have enrolled in the brigade. They are meeting every Tuesday for continuing education.
- A contest will be held in Los Erasos to design the brigade’s logo. This way, the community becomes involved in the brigade’s promotion.
- We are deciding on a possible transport mechanism for carrying patients up the stairways out of Los Erasos. One option is pictured above. This model is built by TraverseRescue.
- The community has elected three representatives to act as the liaisons between Venemergencia and the brigade.

Other news:
- Venemergencia is submitting a description of the project in Los Erasos (to create a community-owned brigade and subsequent clinic) to an international contest of innovative collaborations in private enterprise. Fundación Ideas has already accepted the proposal and invited us to the second round.
