Atención Prehospitalaria Graduation Day

Friday, June 21, 2013

Fourteen students finished A Tu Lado’s Atención Prehospitalaria course yesterday, Thursday afternoon. After completing a written theoretical exam, a scenario-based practical exam, and a full run report (scenario documentation), students received provisional certificates-of-completion signed by A Tu Lado and the Sociedad Scientifica, the UMSS nursing student association.

Next week, students receive final certificates signed by A Tu Lado, Directors in the UMSS Medical School, and the Sociedad Scientifica, complete with number of academic hours accredited to the program.

While it is always sad for us to say goodbye to our students, the final day of class is uniquely rewarding. We get a chance to see the enormous progress our students have made in the last two weeks, and the one-on-one practical exams really give them a chance to show us a summary of what they have learned. They approach the scenario with calm and confidence, and treat patients with skill and compassion. Once again, we are confident these graduates will go forward to do innovative and important work both with their patients and colleagues.
